The Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) Memphis Chapter is a local chapter of the national CBTU organization, founded in 1972. CBTU was established to address the concerns of Black workers within the American labor movement and to increase their participation and influence in unions. The Memphis Chapter works to organize Black workers, advocate for economic justice, fight discrimination in the workplace, and build bridges between the labor movement and the African American community.
