In 2019, a kidney stone sent me to the ER with the most excruciating pain of my life. While finding the stone, the doctors also found a mass on my kidney. Pass the stone first, they told me — then see a specialist about the mass.

I walked into African Art & Accessories, and the owner knew exactly what I was up against.
