Isolate the Energy Source
Open the disconnect, close valves, block supports — physically cut off ALL energy: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, gravity, chemical.

Each authorized worker attaches their OWN padlock and tag.

Shut Down the Equipment
Use the normal stopping procedure (button, switch, valve) to bring the machine to a complete stop.

Notify Affected Employees
Tell every employee whose machine will be locked out before you start.

Verify Zero Energy State
Try to start the machine using normal controls — IT MUST NOT RUN.
