The Plant That Builds Every American Volvo Truck

UAW Local 2069 represents roughly 2,900 workers at Volvo Trucks' New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia — the largest Volvo truck manufacturing facility in the world and the exclusive production site for Volvo trucks in North America, including the VNL, VNR, VNR Electric, and VHD.

In 2021, NRV workers made national news by striking three times in a single year — rejecting tentative agreements twice and going back to the picket line until the deal got better. The six-year agreement they finally ratified proved a lesson the whole labor movement watched: workers who hold out win more.

The local keeps its members contract-ready with the Pulse of the NRV newsletter and a mass-texting system, and elected its bargaining committee in May–June 2026 as it prepares for the next round with Volvo.
