Memphis Strong — carrying the legacy of 1968

The union of GM Arlington Assembly — where Texas builds America's full-size SUVs.
General Motors has been building vehicles in Arlington, Texas since 1954 — and the members of UAW Local 276 are the reason those vehicles roll out the door. Today, GM Arlington Assembly is the home of America's full-size SUVs: the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon, and the Cadillac Escalade.
Local 276 represents the men and women of the Arlington plant as Unit 1 (GM), along with additional units in the area. The local keeps members informed through regular President's and Chairperson's reports, Member-to-Member updates, and union meetings.
As part of UAW Region 8 — the union's Southern region — Local 276 is proof that union auto work isn't just a Midwest story. It's a Texas story, three shifts deep.
