UAW Local 3520 represents production, plant clerical, and maintenance workers at Daimler Truck North America's manufacturing operations in Cleveland, North Carolina — the truck plant on Statesville Boulevard and the Cleveland CTS Center — where the Freightliner Cascadia, the best-selling heavy truck in America, is built.

In 2024, Local 3520 stood at the center of one of the biggest Southern labor victories in a generation. With a strike deadline hours away, 7,400 Daimler workers across six facilities won a four-year master agreement with at least 25% in general wage increases, cost-of-living adjustments for the first time in company history, mandatory profit sharing, and the end of wage tiers — ratified by a 94.5% vote.

The local's office sits in Statesville, and the agreement it helped win runs through March 3, 2028 — a foundation the UAW is building on across the South.
