A Voice for Working America — Serving Members & Community
UFCW Local 1529 represents thousands of grocery, retail, food processing, and commercial workers across the Mid-South. We believe hard work should be rewarded with a better life.
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1529 is headquartered in Cordova, Tennessee and serves as the voice of Kroger workers and other retail and food industry employees throughout the Memphis area and beyond. For decades, Local 1529 has fought for fair wages, affordable healthcare, retirement security, and safe working conditions.
As part of the UFCW International Union — one of the largest private-sector unions in North America — Local 1529 has the strength and resources to stand up for working families. Whether it’s negotiating strong contracts, filing grievances, or organizing new workplaces, we are committed to making sure every worker has a voice on the job.

Spot a price that’s higher at your store than across town? Report it anonymously. Local 1529 grocery workers and shoppers are on the front line of the predatory-pricing fight — including the electronic shelf labels Kroger is rolling out across the Mid-South.
