We Fight MonstersNo life is beyond redemption — rescuing, recovering, and restoring people trapped in trafficking and addiction.
We Fight Monsters is a Memphis nonprofit founded by Ben & Jessica Owen — living testimonies of second chances who walked through the darkness themselves and now dedicate their lives to rescuing others. Through their R³ pipeline (Rescue → Recovery → Restoration), a 24/7 hotline, and their Memphis 'Operation Stronghold' mission, WFM pairs compassionate care with strategic, boots-on-the-ground outreach to bring people trapped in addiction and human trafficking back into the light.
Field extractions with law-enforcement partners plus walk-ins — immediate safety, triage, and transport to care. No vigilantism; survivor consent and privacy guide every step.
Medical detox and stabilization followed by residential recovery — rebuilding mindset, life skills, and community through the critical first 0–180 days.
A restoration community where survivors learn trades — carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC — plus agriculture and culinary skills through paid apprenticeships, earning wages and savings at graduation.
A round-the-clock hotline and text line (901-207-0879) with an immediate onramp for anyone — or any family — ready to escape addiction or trafficking.
Ben and Jessica Owen came through the darkness themselves — and came out to spend their lives helping others do the same. Their coalition of former special operators, law-enforcement professionals, and addiction-recovery champions has earned the respect of Memphis courts, police, mental-health professionals, and the recovery community. From serving coffee under bridges to walking families through a loved one's rescue, Ben and Jess are proof that no one is beyond redemption and everyone deserves a second chance to get back on the right track.
Second chances and good union jobs go hand in hand. We Fight Monsters restores lives and — through Oak Farms' trades training and paid apprenticeships — helps survivors build careers that can lead straight into the union building trades. Labor Education is proud to feature We Fight Monsters as a Memphis community partner defending the defenseless and opening doors to a new life.
